What will our group use your personal data for?
We will only use your personal data for those purposes disclosed during data collection or subsequently during re-consenting exercises. This means:
- We will only contact you via the mechanism(s) you have provided consent for as determined from your Ramblers Profile.
- We will only contact you to persue the legitimate aims of the organisation: to inform you of essential news, walks programme details, special events, etc.
- We may pass on news from other organisations that we feel is of direct interest to our membership.
Use of photographs taken on group walks
Photographs taken during group walks may be published on our website or OWW social media sites. At the start of each walk, the walk leader will ask for verbal permmission from attendees for this use of any photographs taken during the walk. This policy only covers use of photos on our website and social media accounts. For any other uses, appropriate permission for specific use must be obtained by the photographer from the subjects involved.
Third parties we share your data with
We do not give your information to third parties except where necessary to provide our services:
Mailing lists
We use a mailling list hosted by Groups.io. To provide us with a group email facility we upload your email address (where email consent has been registered) to their servers. Please see https://groups.io/static/privacy for details of Groups.io's Privacy Policy.
The Walk Leaders' Number
Our VoIP phone facility is provided via Internet Service Providers, Andrews and Arnold Ltd. Members' phone numbers are uploaded to their site during the week prior to a walk. These numbers are removed within 24hours of the relevant walk finishing.
Text message routing is via InteliSMS and any phone number is only stored on their servers for the purposes of itemised billing.
