    Anyone is welcome to come on two or three walks before joining the group officially but after this they must become a member to continue walking with us.  For information on joining have a look at the how to join page.

  • Always plan to be at start point for walk at least 15 minutes before the listed start time and car share wherever possible.

  • Contact the walk leader if you would like to know more about their walk.

  • Walk Leaders - ALL walks information on the website is maintained by the Programme Secretary who should be contacted for any updates or changes to walk details

Whitehorse Workout, 9 miles

Meeting Point and Parking Meet by the Fox and Hounds pub; park considerately on nearby streets. SU305890 Click for Map
Route Mostly flattish, apart from a steep ascent to the White Horse and steady descent down from the Ridgeway. A lot of stiles along the way, a number of which are quite wobbly.

Wantage and surrounding villages, 9 miles

Route Up out of Wantage to the Letcombes, then through Childrey and back to Wantage via the West Berks canal. A moderate walk. Social event at end

Winchcombe Wander, 8.5 miles

Route Relatively easy walk with lovely scenery and historic buildings including an abbey and castle. Takes in farmland, the Cotswold Way and a woodland path. Hostelry stop at end.

Crickley Hill Country Park, 9 miles

Route A country park on the Cotswold scarp approximately 6 miles East of Gloucester with extensive views. The route explores farmland, a limestone valley, commons high above the Severn Vale and Beech woodlands along the Cotswold edge. There will be time to look at the Iron Age Camp after the walk if anyone is interested. Refreshments at the Air Balloon PH after the walk.

Faringdon Circular, 12.5 miles

Route A circular walk from Faringdon, featuring an Iron Age camp at Badbury Hill, the 13th C. Cistercian Great Barn at Great Coxwell and Faringdon's Folly. Liable to be overgrown and muddy. Possible pub stop at Little Coxwell.

Bourton to Bledington, 16 miles

Meeting Point and Parking Car park next to Birdland in Bourton-on-the-Water. All day parking is very expensive (£6.30 when last checked) so car share where possible to spread the cost. Toilets in car park. SP169203 Click for Map
Route Starting from bustling Bouton-on-the-Water and taking in the quieter villages of Little Rissington, Wyck Rissington, Icomb, Bledington (possible pub stop) and Nether Westcote. Hopefully good Autumn colour. This will be a relatively fast paced tramp.

Ramblers 75th Anniversary Event
Oxfordshire Way Baton Walk, 13.5 miles

Route Walk to Beckley to meet the Oxon 20s 30s Group at or near the Abingdon Arms Pub at approximately 11.30am. Then back to Waterperry along the Oxfordshire Way. Route subject to change if flooded. Note that this is part of a series of baton walks across England, Wales and Scotland to celebrate the Ramblers 75th Anniversary.
